Coloring

Choose a color scheme and stick to it throughout the site. Do not choose 10 different colors, even if they are similar. It creates chaos and gives a more playful and childish impression. If that’s what you’re looking for then by all means, use all the colors of the rainbow. Otherwise, try to stick to 2-4 colors for the entire website. It will offer a sense of unity and direction which is an important impression for your company.

Page Division

Blocks of Text

The center of the page is used for blocks of texts. Take some time to consider the content that should be included in your company’s site and give each subject a short and appropriate title. On this home page the three columns are each a summary of the other pages. That’s not a bad idea. A few words about the Company are always a welcome addition to the homepage. People like to know where they’ve arrived.

Keywording

When you write your texts, try to consider what keywords are both relevant to your business and widely searched for in search engines. The more you optimize your website in terms of keywords and links (which I will get to) the better your ranking in the search engines, (Google, yahoo, etc) and the more traffic you will generate to your website.

To Scroll or Not to Scroll

Another important factor and question which this template raises is the matter of the screen size. Do you want your visitors to scroll down or should they get all the information straight from the get go? This is an important conceptual question which you need to answer before finalizing your site layout. The Global Ventures Template includes a footer that can only be seen when scrolling down, but this footer is not part of the dynamic page, rather it is part of the static background layout which means that it does not change. Use this footer for contact details or other kinds of general information, or add an RSS feed through the widget menu.

Linking

Do not forget to add links to your website. If you have no links it will be very hard for you to generate traffic and also, your rankings with the search engines will be harmed.
